BUILD a Better Future
Boost Environmental Performance
- Walbridge’s internal GreenWISE program was first launched in 2009 and receives periodic updates to align with the latest developments. GreenWISE is built to identify onside environmental solutions to drive sustainability across our operations.
- Walbridge has a strong track record in sustainable building practices. We have successfully completed 78 LEED-certified projects, demonstrating our commitment to environmentally conscious construction. Each project contributes to the development of expertise and knowledge for future projects.
Utilize Carbon Accounting
- Walbridge had partnered with innovative software company Gravity Climate, to access scope 1, scope 2, and scope 3 related GHG emissions. This is performed on a facility and project-level basis and allows us to detect areas for reduction strategies. We disclose our GHG emissions through reporting frameworks CDP and EcoVadis.
Incorporate Renewable Energy Solutions
- Since 2023 Walbridge enrolled in the DTE MIGreenPower program and 100% of all electricity used at our Team Depot comes from renewable sources.
- Walbridge continues to explore and implement electrified tools and site equipment with the aim to reduce our fuel usage.
Leverage Low Carbon Solutions
- Walbridge actively pursues collaboration and partnerships to integrate low-carbon and innovative materials and construction methods into our projects. Our focus includes solutions such as low-carbon concrete, low-carbon steel, mass timber, cradle to cradle principles, site electrification, and Prefabrication, Preassembly, Modularization, and Offsite Fabrication (PPMOF). Companies Walbridge have partnered with include CarbonCure Technologies and WoodChuck.
Develop Sustainability Expertise Solutions
- By leveraging environmental lessons learned, Walbridge is able to implement environmental solutions on our construction projects. In additions, there is continuous education thorough quarterly internal sustainability news bulletins.
- Walbridge achieved ISO 14001 Certification. This international standard recognizes our commitment to environmental management and sustainability.
