Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Mich., hired the Walbridge | Schweitzer Joint Venture to manage construction of Phase II of the college’s Capital Improvement Program.

The work involves construction of a 4,700-square-foot addition and renovations to the 15,000-square-foot Eastern Academic Building, as well as 22,000 square feet of additions and renovations to the college’s Binda Performing Arts Center, 36,000 square feet of renovations to the Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Academic Building, and 42,500 square feet of renovation work and a 32,000-square-foot addition to the Miller Physical Education Building. The Phase II construction projects are expected to be completed in August 2016.

Construction at the Binda Performing Arts Center wrapped up in October 2014. Work included the addition of a new glass curtain-walled lobby and storage area, complete renovation of all existing spaces, upgraded acoustics in the auditorium and new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The glass curtain-wall lobby overlooks a reflecting pool in the heart of KCC’s campus.

In addition to the JV construction projects, Walbridge was also enlisted to conduct a 15-year facilities management study of the KCC Capital Improvements Program.
