The North Laboratory Expansion was constructed on roughly a half-square-mile of GM Powertrain Headquarters Campus in Pontiac, Michigan. Key construction elements included 40 overhead cranes and the construction of a paint shop, weld shop, engine and transmission rebuild area, experimental equipment storage, mobile equipment parking, parts testing and maintenance, shipping and receiving, and office space.
Walbridge also provided approximately $700,000 in equipment relocations. Additional work was associated with tie-in and renovations to the existing abutting structure. Substantial site work included new infrastructure and parking areas, a tank farm, fire suppression loop and other utilities.
