The $73 million project included construction of a fully automated primary sewage treatment facility capable of screening and chemically treating up to 2.4 million gallons per minute, plus piping, tunneling and flow diversions for construction of a new 56,000-square-foot combined sewer overflows (CSO) treatment facility.
Work also included replacement of 24,000-volt primary power feeds to the existing Woodmere Pump Station and installation of dual 24,000-volt primary power feeds and a distribution system at the new CSO treatment facility. Walbridge also installed a fully automated operating system to control 157 major pieces of equipment and a 140,000-gallon on-site chemical storage and injection system.
